Storage Restrictions and Prohibited Items
At Huron Cedar Storage, the safety and security of our customers and their belongings are our highest priorities. To ensure a safe environment, certain items are prohibited within our storage units and on our property. Please review the following restrictions before storing your belongings with us:
-
Hazardous Materials: Flammable, combustible, toxic, or corrosive substances such as gasoline, propane tanks, kerosene, paint, paint thinner, fertilizers, acids, and explosives are strictly prohibited due to safety risks.
-
Perishable Food Items: We do not allow fresh or perishable foods, as these can attract pests and cause odors or mold.
-
Illegal or Stolen Goods: Any illegal substances or stolen property are prohibited by law and not allowed on site.
-
Weapons and Ammunition: Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and any other weapons are not permitted due to liability and safety concerns.
-
Living Things: No animals, plants, or any living creatures (including humans) may be stored.
-
Wet or Scented Items: Items that are wet or emit strong odors, such as damp clothing or candles, are not allowed because they may cause mold or odor issues.
-
Medical Supplies and Medications: Items requiring refrigeration or special handling, including medication and used medical equipment, cannot be stored.
-
High-Value or Irreplaceable Items Without Insurance: Fine art, jewelry, antiques, or large amounts of cash must have proper insurance if stored on site.
-
Household Items and Construction Materials: We do not accept storage of household goods, paper products, or construction materials. Our facility primarily stores vehicles, boats, RVs, and machinery. The back lot is available for contractors as a staging yard.
If you have any questions about specific items or need clarification, please contact our office directly before storing your belongings. All items stored must be approved by management and we reserve the right to refuse or remove items that go against our policy.
